Squale is a brand that has always dedicated itself exclusively to the production of watches, even before the birth of the brand itself. In fact, in 1950, when the brand did not yet exist, Charles and Helene Von Buren opened a watch factory in Neuchâtel that made timepieces for other brands. Squale has been producing exclusively diving watches since 1959 as the goal of Charles Von Buren, in love with the marine world and diving, was to be able to create an instrument capable of assisting divers in all their adventures. The brand creates watches respecting the highest quality standards, in order to be considered reliable even in the most extreme conditions. For this reason, Squale watches have been chosen, over the years, by professionals from various sectors, including the Armed Forces, athletes and underwater workers, to become their professional tool suitable for every circumstance.
Since 1959, Squale has continued to work in full respect of the values of the Swiss watchmaking tradition, creating quality, reliable and long-lasting watches. All its watches are assembled by hand by expert watchmaker technicians in our laboratories in Ticino using cutting-edge tools. To be able to create reliable products, numerous checks are carried out, from the individual components to the finished product. Before assembling a watch, all movements are tested individually, using a 4-position control to ensure excellent performance. Once assembled, each Squale watch is subjected to a waterproof test to verify the absence of manufacturing or assembly defects, which would compromise the pressure resistance of the watch.
