and for Saint George
For over ten years we have been designing jewellery that carries the soul of Genoa — with cameos hand-engraved by the masters of Torre del Greco.
The symbols of a city
Each jewel tells a piece of Genoese history. Saint George defeating evil, the emblem of the Superb, the lighthouse guiding sailors, the lion watching over the cathedral.
The war cry of the Genoese soldiers was "For Genoa and for Saint George!" — Pé Zena e pé San Zorzo. The knight defeating the dragon is not just a legend: it is the symbol of good prevailing over evil, carried on Genoese ships in a hundred battles.
The red cross on a white field — the same as the English flag, adopted in 1190 by British sailors who paid Genoa for protection at sea. A symbol that travelled the world before the world was fully mapped.
The oldest lighthouse in the world still in operation, built in the 12th century. For Genoese around the world, the Lighthouse is the symbol of return — the light seen when approaching the home port.
The two stone lions flanking the portal of the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence have guarded the heart of the old city for centuries. Silent guardians of the centre of Genoa — strong, immobile, faithful.
Eight pieces, one city
Produced in our workshop in Genoa. The cameos are hand-engraved by the masters of Torre del Greco, in a craft tradition dating back to the 18th century. Available in 925 silver — on request in gold.

But if I think about it
But if I think about it, I can well sing
that my beautiful Genoa is a great city…
on this sea, so beautiful and so vast,
with its palaces all shining…
But if I think about it, I can well sing / that my beautiful Genoa is a great city… / on this sea, so beautiful and so vast, / with its palaces all shining…
Written by Goffredo Casalis in 1829, it has become the unofficial anthem for those who carry Genoa in their hearts even from afar. The "Ma se ghe pensu" ring features some verses in Genoese, with the Lighthouse in relief on the front. A piece that defies explanation — you either feel it or you don't.
