The sailor whistle, or marine pipe-sized whistle, is a tool that sailors use to communicate with each other. By issuing modulated sounds, different orders are given (depending on the sound and trills). In doing so the crew includes the order to be executed. It is a tool of British origin in the past called "Boatswain's pipe".
