Seiko introduces a new interpretation of the 1968 diver’s watch to the Prospex collection, even better equipped to meet the challenge of the most extreme conditions on land. This watch, with its advanced specifications, was worn by members of the 63rd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition. The case, bezel and crown are all made of Seiko’s Ever-Brilliant Steel. To ensure the durability of the watch, the crown is locked into a separate component integrated into the case. The watch is powered by the caliber 8L35, developed specifically for diver’s watches and hand-assembled by the craftsmen at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in northern Japan. The textured dial evokes the Antarctic landscape, while the subtle gradation of blue from light to dark echoes the beautiful colors of the polar ice. This new Prospex watch is available in a limited edition of 1,300 pieces.
